Although
this web site details the rich opportunities which await if you
become a student at the College of Law, it cannot adequately convey
the dedication, commitment, and energy you will encounter as a
student here. Please allow us to suggest a few of the reasons
our law school is widely acknowledged as the legal education leader
in the communities it serves.
The
College of Law offers students like you the opportunity to acquire
a high-quality legal education. We are a small school, established
to meet the needs of residents in the tri-counties: Ventura,
Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. Yet, in the 35 years we have
been educating future lawyers, our reputation for excellence
has spread throughout California as our graduates have established
successful legal and judicial careers.
Here,
classes are large enough to promote vigorous discussion, but
small enough to allow you to get to know your professors and
fellow students. We offer an outstanding faculty, consisting
of prominent members of the local bench and bar who provide
our students with an excellent academic foundation and the benefit
of their practical experience.
Our
program will prepare you to succeed no matter how you choose
to use your law degree, whether in private practice, government
service, or business. And, although our program is rigorous,
it is designed to meet the needs of working adults. Our students
vary in age, career paths, and life experiences, but they share
a strong desire to expand their options with a background in
law.
We
are proud of all of our graduates, and count among our alumni
numerous judges, founders and partners in local law firms, and
civic leaders. The College of Law will provide you, as it has
our other graduates, an intensive legal education, opportunities
for practical experience, and our commitment to high standards
of professionalism.
As
you consider whether and where to attend law school, consider
the importance of attending an established school with a distinguished
tradition which emphasizes a commitment to an innovative curriculum,
teaching excellence, and public service. We welcome your interest
in the College of Law.
